How to create a dashboard using YouTube?

Want your YouTube channel analytics data in a custom dashboard? No problem! Thanks to our YouTube integration, there are plenty of possibilities for a comprehensive video media dashboard.

1 – Connect your account

It’s very easy to connect your YouTube account to DashThis. It requires only 2 quick steps:

  1. In the Integration Manager, choose YouTube and click on Add.

    Integration Manager GSC
  2. You’re then redirected to Google. Sign in as usual and allow DashThis to access your YouTube data (don’t worry – we only use it to generate your dashboards!).

As a sign of success, your account now appears under the section Integrations in use in DashThis!

You’re all set and done to create dashboards now!

2 – KPIs, metrics, and dimensions

The following standard KPIs are available from the Preset Widgets drop down menu:

  • Comments Count
  • Dislikes
  • Estimated Minutes Watched
  • Likes
  • Shares
  • Video Views
  • Youtube Subscribers

The available metrics and dimensions are:

  • Comments Count
  • Dislikes
  • Shares
  • Subscribers
  • Views
  • Likes
  • Subscribers Gained
  • Estimated Minutes Watched
  • Average View Duration Seconds
  • Subscribers

  • Country
  • Insight Playback Location Type
  • Device Type
  • Sharing Service
  • Video Title
  • Insight Traffic Source Type

3 – Notes

If you are having trouble seeing the number of subscribers in your DashThis account, it may be due to a setting in your YouTube channel’s settings.

In the Advanced Settings of your YouTube Creator Studio, check the “Display the number of people subscribed to my channel” box to make it work.
