Ahrefs notes/limitations
- One thing to know about Ahrefs API: it only provides data for its Live Index, not for the Fresh Index (index of recently live sites, not re-crawled).
- Unfortunately, Ahrefs' API doesn't provide precise KPIs allowing DashThis to import your keyword ranking data into your reports. We are constantly following the updates made by Ahrefs in order to eventually add those metrics once they are available in the API.
- For all metrics, we always use the value from the end of the selected period (or from yesterday if the period is ongoing). This may cause some discrepancies with the Ahrefs UI, as their data can be grouped by month depending on the view.
- Also, by default, the Ahrefs UI displays Organic Positions, which are not available through the API. You need to switch this to Organic Keywords:

- Currently, each DashThis account can have only one Ahrefs authorization. This limitation exists because the Ahrefs API does not provide reliable information about the connected Ahrefs account. As a result, DashThis must create a single, fixed authorization with a predefined name. That’s why all Ahrefs authorizations in DashThis are labeled “Ahrefs Enterprise Subscription.” This has not caused any issues so far, since Ahrefs data sources in DashThis are manual. You can still track as many domains as you want within this single Ahrefs authorization.
