Snapchat Ads notes/limitations
A few things to keep in mind when you report on Snapchat Ads in DashThis.
Good to know
- Conversion Settings set the attribution window. Snapchat Ads widgets carry a Conversion Settings filter that decides how long after a swipe or a view a conversion still counts, for example 28-day swipe / 1-day view. Leave it alone and Snapchat applies the ad account's own default.
- Reach and Frequency need a breakdown. Both count unique viewers, so they cannot be added up. Use them with the Campaign, Ad Squad, or Ad dimension. They are not available on an account total, or with Country, Region, Gender, Age, and Operating System.
- Swipes are Snapchat’s clicks. Snapchat calls a click-through a swipe-up, so you will see Swipes, Swipe-Up Rate, and Cost per Swipe where other integrations show clicks, click-through rate, and cost per click.
- Your numbers settle over about two days, conversions over about 30. Snapchat keeps adjusting a day's delivery figures for roughly 48 hours after it ends, so DashThis re-fetches the last 7 days to pick up the changes. Conversions finish on a slower clock and Snapchat restates them for up to 30 days, so purchases, installs and sign-ups on recent days keep moving after the rest have settled.
- One source is one ad account. Currency and time zone both come from the Snapchat ad account, so day boundaries follow that time zone rather than your DashThis settings.
