What is the “Number of Organic Landing Pages” KPI?

The “Number of Organic Landing Page” is the total number of different landing pages visited by users that are coming from organic search.

1- Definition

The “Number of Organic Landing Page” is the total number of different landing pages visited by users that are coming from organic search. This widget uses the Google Analytics standard Non-Paid Search advanced segment.

It is important to not confuse it with the total number of pageviews from organic search. For example, let’s say you have these landing pages:

/index.html (1000 pageviews)
/products.html (500 pageviews)
/products/used-cars.html (100 pageviews)

The total pageviews would be 1600, right? But the total number of unique landing pages from organic search would be only 3.

The idea here is to measure the exact number of pages contributing to your digital organic presence, instead of the number of sessions or users visiting those pages. The more landing pages from organic you have, the more your content is high-performing.

2- Use it in DashThis

Although it is a very valuable KPI, the Number of Organic Landing Pages is not directly provided from Google Analytics’ API.

To work around this issue, we created a specific preset widget that you can add to any Google Analytics dashboard.

  1. While being in your dashboard, open the Preset Widgets panel.
  2. Open the SEO folder.
  3. Click on “Number of Organic Landing Pages”.
