Can I move a dashboard to another DashThis account?

No, a dashboard stays in the account where it was created, but you can have its template transferred and build the dashboard again there.

What can travel between accounts is a custom template, the blueprint of your dashboard. Save the dashboard as a template, ask us to transfer it, then create the dashboard again in the other account from that template.

Dashboards cannot be transferred

DashThis does not move or clone a dashboard from one account to another. Each account keeps its own dashboards and its own sources. To get the same report in the other account, you transfer the template and build the dashboard again there.

How do you move a dashboard to another account?

  1. Open the Dashboard Manager in the account that holds the dashboard.
  2. Click the menu icon beside the dashboard name and select SAVE AS TEMPLATE. Give the template a clear name so it is easy to spot later.
  3. Contact our Support Team and ask for a template transfer. Tell us the template name, the account it is in now, and the account it should go to.
  4. Wait for our confirmation that the template is available in the other account.
  5. Create a new dashboard in that account and pick your template from the list of custom templates.
  6. Connect the sources for the new dashboard. Your widgets then fill in with the data of the sources you picked.

Your new dashboard now has the same layout as the original one, with the data of the account it lives in.

What the template carries over

A custom template keeps the same types, parameters and positions of your preset, custom and bundle widgets. It also keeps the types and positions of your static widgets, but not their content, so the text you wrote in a comment box does not follow.

Good to know

  • Only a template can be transferred. Dashboards and dashboard groups stay in the account where they were created.
  • Connect the same integrations first. If an integration used in the template is missing in the other account, the widgets that need it do not show up in your new dashboard.
  • CSV files do not follow. Only the CSV template is saved with your custom template, not the CSV file itself.
  • The original stays untouched. Transferring a template does not change or delete the dashboard it came from.
