Calculated Widget
Calculated Widget allow you to combine multiple metrics from different integrations into a single value using mathematical operations such as addition (+), subtraction (-), multiplication (*), and division (/).
This feature is currently in beta and includes limitations (see below).
How to create a Calculated Widget
Follow the visual guide below for step-by-step instructions. If needed, you’ll also find the written steps at the end of this guide.
Follow these steps to build a Calculated Widget:
- At the top of your dashboard, click Calculated Widget
- Select the widget style you want
- Click Add Metric
- Choose:
- The integration
- The source
- The metric - Click save
- Add a calculation operator:
-+(addition)
--(substraction)
-*(mutiplication)
-/(division)
-()(grouping)
👉 You can either click the operators or type them manually directly in the formula box. - Click Add metric again to continue building your formula:
- Select the integration
- Choose the source
- Select the metric - Repeat as needed to complete your calculation
-
Configure the Formatting options
Format
The format is automatically selected based on your formula, but can also be adjusted manually:
- Auto
- Integer
- Decimal
- Percent
- Money
- TimeFluctuation type
Choose how performance trends should be interpreted:
- Auto
- More is good
- Less is good
- Once finished, click Create widget
Your widget will now display the calculated KPI 🎉
Using multiple KPI Calculations
In Trend and Multi-Column List widgets, you can add more than one KPI Calculation.
- Each KPI will appear in its own column
- Each column can have its own formula

This allows you to compare multiple calculated KPIs within the same widget.
How additions work with calculated metrics
When using the + operator with calculated metrics, DashThis applies a merged calculation approach (weighted average) rather than a simple numeric addition.
This means that metrics such as CPC, CPA, CTR, or other ratio-based metrics are recalculated using the combined underlying data instead of adding the displayed values together.
For example:
- CPC A = $0.50
- CPC B = $0.50
Using CPC A + CPC B will result in $0.50, not $1.00, because DashThis recalculates the metric based on the merged totals behind the scenes.
This behavior reflects the most commonly expected outcome when combining performance metrics across sources or campaigns.
Need a simple addition instead?
If you want the result to be a direct mathematical sum (for example, $0.50 + $0.50 = $1.00), you can achieve this by breaking down your formula and using parentheses appropriately in your calculation.
Limitations (Beta)
Because this feature is still in development, the following limitations apply:
- ❌ These widgets can’t be merged.
- ⚠️ "Save as Template" limitations
- Calculated Widget will be copied into the template
- However, all integrations used in the formula must be added when using the template
- Otherwise, the widget will not be created
Why use Calculated Widgets?
Use calculated widgets to create custom KPIs from your existing data — whether it comes from the same integration or multiple integrations combined.
Examples:
- Gross Profit = Conversion Value - Cost
- Lead Cost = Ad Spend / Leads
- Calculates the cost per purchase from an integration.
- Combined Conversions from multiple ad platforms
They’re useful when the metric you need isn’t directly available in your data source.
What's next ?
We’re actively working on improving Calculated Widget.
