How to use Zapier + Google Sheets to import unsupported data into DashThis

Google Sheets is a great way to integrate data from sources that are not natively supported in DashThis. A powerful alternative is to use Zapier to automatically create and update your Google Sheet, then connect that file to DashThis. This guide walks you through the process.

Why use Zapier with Google Sheets?

Zapier lets you connect thousands of apps (CRM, marketing platforms, databases, etc.) and automatically send data to Google Sheets.

This allow you to:

→ Google Sheets – Create Spreadsheet Row

💡 Tip: Structure your data properly at this stage (date format, numbers, etc.)

Step 2: Structure your Google Sheet (IMPORTANT)

For DashThis to properly import your data, your Google Sheet must follow specific requirements.

👉 See the full guide here: How to create a dashboard with Google Sheets

✅ Main requirements

  • The file must be a Google Sheets file (not Excel)

  • Each column must have a header in the first row

  • Data must be organized in a table format

  • One row = one entry (e.g., a date, a campaign, etc.)

⚠️ What to avoid

  • Columns without headers

  • Unstructured data

  • Changing structure over time

Step 3: Connect your Google Sheet to DashThis

  1. In DashThis, go to Integrations section
  2. Select Google Sheets
  3. Connect your Google account
  4. Select your file and the desired sheet

You’re all set! You can now connect your Google Sheet automated with Zapier to DashThis and use it in your dashboards.
