How to create a Smart Dashboard
Smart Dashboard builds your first dashboard automatically in under a minute, choosing the right widgets from the platforms and goals you pick.
⚠️This feature is currently being rolled out gradually, so it isn't available to all users.
What is a Smart Dashboard?
A Smart Dashboard is a complete, ready-to-read dashboard that DashThis assembles for you, instead of you building it widget by widget.
You answer quick questions about who the dashboard is for and what you want to track, and DashThis chooses the widgets, personalizes their titles, and organizes them into a section for each integration.
Your Smart Dashboard is built with sample data first, so you see a finished layout right away. You connect your own accounts afterward to bring in your real numbers.
How do you create a Smart Dashboard?
When you sign up for a new DashThis account, Smart Dashboard starts on its own. You can also start it from your dashboard list whenever you want to build a new one.
- Enter the website of the company the dashboard is for, then pick it from the list. DashThis reads the site to pull in the brand, applying its logo and colours to your dashboard. Prefer to skip this? Choose Skip personalization.
- Add a focus note (optional). Tell DashThis what the dashboard should focus on, for example paid ad performance or social media engagement, and it tailors the selection.
- Choose the integrations to report on, up to 4. The integrations detected from the website appear first.
- Set one goal for each integration: Brand Awareness, Traffic Generation, Lead Generation, or Ecommerce Sales. Add an optional note if you have something specific in mind.
- Set your preferences: the reporting period, and the language and currency of the dashboard.
- Select Build this dashboard. In under a minute your dashboard is ready and opens automatically.
What does DashThis build for you?
Your Smart Dashboard comes with more than a grid of widgets:
- A section for each integration, with a header so you always know which integration a widget belongs to.
- An overview at the top that combines your most important numbers across integrations, such as total ad spend from every ad integration on the dashboard.
- Widget titles written for your client, not generic labels, so the dashboard reads the way a marketer would write it.
- A short summary that explains why each section is there and what to look at first.
- Everything written in the language you chose, including the titles and the summary.
How do you add your own data?
Your Smart Dashboard starts with sample data so you can see the finished layout immediately. On each widget, the source is named Sample Data.
When you are ready to see your real numbers, connect your own accounts and replace the sample sources.
Notes and limitations
- Integrations: you can pick up to 4 integrations for a Smart Dashboard.
- Goals: the goals are your choice. DashThis never guesses them for you.
- Language: the language you pick drives every AI-written label on the dashboard, including the widget titles, the dashboard title, and the summary. Brand and integration names stay in their original form.
- Sample data: the dashboard is created with sample data. Connect your own accounts to see your real numbers.
- Speed: building usually takes well under a minute.
- Creating more dashboards: Smart Dashboard is one way to get started. You can also build dashboards the regular way whenever you want, by choosing a preset template or starting from a blank dashboard.
