[Connect Your AI Assistant](https://help.dashthis.com/mcp?hsLang=en#connect-your-ai-assistant) # How to connect with MCP in Claude ## Connect Claude to your DashThis account with MCP so you can ask about your dashboards right inside your conversation.   This guide shows you how to connect **Claude** to your DashThis account using the MCP Connector. Once connected, you can ask Claude about your dashboards and it answers using your live reporting data. ### Before you start - Adding a custom connector requires a **paid Claude subscription**. - You sign in with your usual DashThis credentials during setup. ### Connect Claude to DashThis 1. Go to [https://claude.ai/directory/dashthis](https://claude.ai/directory/dashthis) and click **Connect to Claude**. 2. **Authorize** the connection. You’ll be redirected to DashThis to sign in and approve access. 3. **Start asking** about your dashboards, for example “List my DashThis dashboards” or “Show me the current values on my SEO dashboard for last month.”   ### What Claude can see Claude only sees the DashThis account you connected. It reads your dashboards, and it changes something only when you ask, like [writing a comment](https://help.dashthis.com/how-to-write-comments-with-your-ai-assistant?hsLang=en). It never deletes anything in DashThis. For the full list of what the connector can and cannot do, see [MCP notes and limitations](https://help.dashthis.com/mcp-notes/limitations?hsLang=en). **Claude says it has no tools available** If Claude connects but tells you it has no tools available, the connection was approved with incomplete permissions. Remove the DashThis connector in Claude, then follow the steps above to connect and approve access again. Your dashboards and your data are never affected, so you lose nothing by reconnecting. **Claude says “DashThis wasn’t connected”** If Claude shows “DashThis wasn’t connected. If you didn’t cancel the sign-in, ask your DashThis admin for access.” right after you allow access, check which DashThis login you signed in with. That login belongs to a DashThis account that can no longer use DashThis, like a trial that has ended or a closed account. Each DashThis login belongs to one account only. If your company shares a login that sits on an old or closed account, signing in with it is refused even when your own account is active. Remove the DashThis connector in Claude and sign out of DashThis in your browser. Then follow the steps above and sign in with the login of your active DashThis account.
