Bing Ads notes/limitations

A few things to keep in mind when you report on Bing Ads in DashThis.

When you connect: Google sign-in is not supported

DashThis supports Microsoft Advertising users who sign in with a Microsoft account (personal or work). If you sign in to Microsoft Advertising with Google, the connection fails and Bing Ads still shows as not set up in DashThis.

You may still get an email from Microsoft saying DashThis is connected, and see DashThis in your Microsoft connected apps. No connection was created, so you can keep or remove that entry.

To connect, use a user who signs in with a Microsoft account and has the Super Admin role. It can still be you:

  1. Go to Settings, then User management in Microsoft Advertising, and click Invite user.
  2. Enter an email address and choose the Super Admin role.
  3. Accept the invitation while signed in with a Microsoft account (personal or Microsoft 365). It does not need to be the address that was invited.
  4. Connect Bing Ads in DashThis with that new user.

Good to know

  • Conversion metrics update over time. Bing Ads (Microsoft Advertising) conversion-based metrics — Conversions, Conversion Rate, Cost per Conversion, and Goal Completions — can keep updating for up to 90 days after the conversion date. Because Microsoft's conversion window can range from a few minutes up to 90 days, figures for recent periods may be incomplete and can change as the window closes.
